Helibasket LLC long lines and electric long lines are heavy-duty lines made from enhanced, High Modulus Polyethylene (HMPE) Plasma® rope. Each line is covered with a braided polyester jacket and two coats of polyurethane. The dielectric design effectively seals the lifting core from grit, oils, solvents, ultraviolet radiation providing significant abrasion resistance.
The lower lifting eye has a BTU cover and potted at the splice joint for durability and electrical cable stress relief. The line eye connecting to the airframe hook is a non-collapsible forged Hawser fitting. The 10,000lbs (WLL) and larger lines have 2,500lbs (WLL) D-rings located above the potted eye to provide added safety for cargo and emergency short hauls.
The electrical long line is covered with a full-length 1000 denier Cordura® jacket with an integrated electrical cable inside a wide mouth synthetic silk sock. This further protects the core and electrical cable and allows the user to adapt other cables for different uses.
When used with our remote cargo hooks, our electric long lines support all types of loads, and our swivels protect rigging associated with all standard, nonstandard or unique external loads.
